BMP Solutions in Media has scooped the pounds 12 million media
account for AXA Sun Life as the insurance giant gears up for an
advertising blitz in April.
BMP Solutions was appointed without a formal pitch. The business was
previously handled by Eurospace, the joint media venture between TBWA
and Carat. AXA’s headquarters in France also held talks with the Omnicom
agency, Manning Gottlieb Media, and TMD Carat.
AXA Sun Life, the UK’s third biggest supplier of pensions and life
products, was created by the merger of AXA Equity & Law and Sun Life
This followed the worldwide merger of AXA and the French insurer,
BMP’s sister Omnicom operation, Optimum Media Direction, handles the
global business from the French headquarters.
BMP Solutions was picked to handle the task to avoid client conflict
since BMP Optimum acts as a subsidiary buying agency to WWAV Rapp
Collins for Legal & General. BMP Solutions also worked with Equity & Law
between 1991 and 1994.

TBWA Simons Palmer, which was re-appointed to the account last

will pitch the AXA brand at consumers and Sun Life at independent
