Boden splits with WCRS&Co

Boden, the mail-order clothing retailer, has spilt with its ad agency WCRS&Co after less than a year.

The catalogue company will now handle its advertising in-house after the amicable spilt with its first retained agency.

In a joint statement, WCRS&Co and Boden said: "Together we have created a strong brand platform for Boden's future communication needs but it has become clear there is no longer a need for an agency to develop advertising."

WCRS was appointed to Boden's advertising account in October last year and was responsible for creating a brand platform, which the retailer will continue to use in-house.

The agency won the business following a pitch against Bartle Bogle Hegarty.

Previously, Boden has predominantly focused its adspend on direct marketing activity, and in March appointed Experian to handle its customer acquisition marketing account.

The company initially aims to crack the teenage market, having launched a new range, Johnnie B, for 10- to 18-year-olds earlier this year.

Boden first launched in 1991, offering casual wear by catalogue to upper middle-class men.
