LONDON - Boots has launched a campaign to educate children about the importance of staying safe in the sun.

The eight-week campaign will air on Nickelodeon Junior. The 40-second animated spot will promote Boots Soltan Kids range of sun protection.

Viacom Brand Solutions and OMD are behind the campaign, which features the character Sunshine Sam. The bear character will give advice on staying safe in the sun.

The campaign is supported by a microsite on the Nick Jr website and will feature educational games and a competition to win summer products.

Other activity from the Boots summer campaign includes a downloadable children's sun safe story with a voiceover from Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman.

Boots suncare consultants will also be visiting local schools and community events across the country this summer to encourage kids to stay safe in the sun.
