A pounds 1 million drive to boost the number of blood donors was

launched by Delaney Fletcher Bozell this week.

Five ads using the slogan ’Do something amazing today, save a life, give

blood’ aim to show how easy it is to fit giving blood into a busy

day.

It is the first work since Delaney Fletcher won the account in March and

is based on its winning pitch. The account was previously held by Euro

RSCG Wnek Gosper.

’We were impressed by the imaginative way in which Delaney Fletcher

tackled a challenging brief,’ Romola Christopherson, director of

information at the Department of Health, said.

The campaign will run until next March and about half the budget will go

on ads in newspaper supplements, women’s and TV listings magazines.

A 48-sheet poster campaign will run in 250 sites nationwide, bolstered

by a further 300 sites in National Car Parks. Poster buying was by

Concord, and press space was booked by the Media Centre.

The drive targets all potential donors, but is specifically aimed at

’nesters’ in their 20s and 30s in the hope of building a list of

long-term donors. The art director was Steve McKenzie and the copywriter

was Mark Waldron.
