Direct marketing company Brann Worldwide has hired Jeremy Whitaker as European president and managing director of marketing services in a move which sees it accelerating its European expansion plans.

Whitaker will run Brann's existing five marketing services divisions, Contact, Data, Production, Fulfilment and Consulting and will also sit on the board. He reports to European president and chief operating officer Roy Boss.

Whitaker joins from running UK publisher William Reed's Knowledge Store division, and his hiring comes after Brann announced an aggressive pan-European expansion drive following its acquisition of the Paris-based direct marketing agency Communider.

Whitaker said: "Brann is among the only global players to offer clients a truly integrated offer and cohesive approach to direct marketing. Its European expansion an the recent deal with Havas makes this an exciting time to be joining, and presents a host of opportunities for business growth."

He has already hired Huw Davies from Claydon Heeley. Whitaker replaces Andy Wright, who becomes North American president and managing director of marketing services.
