Post Office launches campaign starring Inbetweeners actor Simon Bird
The Post Office is launching a campaign on Monday 8 June to promote its travel services and has drafted in actor Simon Bird, star of The Inbetweeners TV show and film series.
The full campaign, including a TV ad, launches next week but it being teased with a tongue-in-cheek behind the scenes video until then.
Separately, the government announced plans to sell its final stake in The Royal Mail Group, of which The Post Office came fully independent of in 2013.
Ikea to spend a billion Euros tackling climate change
Swedish furniture giant Ikea has pledged one billion pounds to help tackle climate change. According to the BBC, the investment is bigger than some countries.
The money will be split into investments into both wind and solar power, as well as a fund that will be invested into poor countries that are likely to be worst hit by climate change.
Vodafone in talks with Virgin Media owner
Vodafone is currently "in talks" with Liberty Global, owner of Virgin Media, according to reports, part of ongoing consolidation in the telephony and media market in the UK and Europe.
Bloomberg is reporting that the discussions are around a variety of options, including an outright merger, assets swaps or a tie up of the European businesses.
