British Gas Home Security, the largest national supplier of alarm
systems in the country, is launching a major advertising and direct
marketing campaign through Evans Hunt Scott.
The campaign is based around the line: ’Make your home a castle.’
National press ads for two products, the Classic 999 and the Powerwatch
999, will appear in daily and Sunday newspapers throughout November,
while a direct mailshot using the same theme will be sent to more than
400,000 British Gas customers and recent home movers in November and
December.
The campaign is designed to coincide with the onset of winter, the peak
time for domestic burglaries. A high percentage of break-ins occur on
Boxing Day, when homes are full of expensive new gifts and families
traditionally enjoy a day out.
Jamie Buchan, marketing director for British Gas Services, said: ’Since
the national launch of the Home Security products in England and Wales
earlier this year, thousands of alarm systems have been sold. We aim to
be the UK’s number one choice, not only for heating services but for a
whole range of home services.’
He added: ’Our customers tell us they would like to see a national,
trustworthy, expert, value-for-money provider of home services for all
their domestic needs. British Gas is already well ahead in developing
its business to provide this essential service.’
The ads and direct marketing material were written by Roger Falstead and
art directed by Carla Greco.
