BBC Two's nine nominations include Best Drama Series, Best Actor, Best Actress and the Writer’s Award for 'Top of the Lake'. ITV's 'Broadchurch' also received nominations in each of the same four categories.
'The Fall' has four nominations, for Best Drama Series, Best Actress, Best Writer and the Breakthrough Award for the actor Jamie Dornan.
The awards, which are voted for by correspondents, critics and previewers who write about TV and radio, will take place at a lunchtime ceremony at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane next month.
The shortlist for the Best Multichannel Programme award includes 'Crackanory', which was on UKTV’s Dave, History's 'Shaun Ryder on UFOs', 'The Tunnel' on Sky Atlantic and Sky 1's 'Yonderland'.
The Discovery Channel is the sponsor of the 2014 awards for the second consecutive year.
