Brook looks to raise £27m with Optimistic AIM flotation

LONDON - David Brook, the former Channel 4 director of strategy, is to float his TV company The Optimistic Network on the Alternative Investment Market.

Optimistic, the co-producer of Channel 4's Flipside TV, is expected to achieve a market capitalisation of £27m when it commences trading on AIM on January 19.

The company owns Nation217, an entertainment channel that broadcasts on Sky Digital. It also operates Studio217, which develops programme formats, and Optimistic Media, a consulting arm providing advice on digital content and brand development.

Brook, chief executive and director of programmes at Optimistic, said: "We are building a TV company for the digital age. As a producer/broadcaster with our own channel, we are in a position to pilot new ideas and make them happen quickly in the UK and internationally."
