Brookes abandons The Times to head agency sales at FT.

The Financial Times has poached Charles Brookes from The Times and Sunday Times to be its new UK agency sales manager.

The Financial Times has poached Charles Brookes from The Times and

Sunday Times to be its new UK agency sales manager.

Brookes currently heads the magazine sales team that is responsible for

selling ads in the Saturday Culture section, the Sunday Times Magazine

and Style. He will start at the FT in August.

In his new role, Brookes replaces Andy Skarzynski, who left the FT in

April to pursue his dream of a career in music, starting with a job in a

recording studio in Islington.

Landing Brookes is clearly a coup for the FT. One insider commented:

’There aren’t too many great people around who can really add something

to a team like ours, but Charles is one of them.’

The FT is also thought to be looking for a client sales manager

following the departure of Richard Winchurch-Beale, who left at around

the same time as Skarzynski. An announcement on this role is expected

soon
