BST-BDDP has poached Paul Belford and Nigel Roberts, the Leagas

Delaney art director and copywriter respectively, to fill the new

positions of head of art and copy.

The high-profile hiring reunites Belford, who is 34, and Roberts, 32,

with Tom Hudson, BST’s creative director and a senior copywriter at

Leagas Delaney until he joined BST in early 1996.

Hudson said: ’For some years, Paul and Nigel have quietly and

consistently been producing excellent work. Not ones to court the

spotlight, they are that rare hiring - a senior team whose output is

bigger than their reputation.

I’m delighted they’ve decided to join us.’

Belford and Roberts’ recent triumphs include Campaign Poster silvers for

the Guardian ads, ’Pamela’ and ’doll’. The pair originated the Guardian

campaign, which used photocopies of famous people as caricatures. While

at Leagas Delaney they also created work for Pepe, Adidas, Harrods and

BBC2.

Working at DMB&B until July 1995, the pair won a Cannes Gold for a

Qantas campaign and a D&AD nomination for relaunch work for the Spastics

Society.

Roberts commented: ’We’ve had a good couple of years at Leagas

Delaney.

This is our chance to move up the ladder and into BST, which looks like

a good agency.’
