BST-BDDP has poached Paul Belford and Nigel Roberts, the Leagas
Delaney art director and copywriter respectively, to fill the new
positions of head of art and copy.
The high-profile hiring reunites Belford, who is 34, and Roberts, 32,
with Tom Hudson, BST’s creative director and a senior copywriter at
Leagas Delaney until he joined BST in early 1996.
Hudson said: ’For some years, Paul and Nigel have quietly and
consistently been producing excellent work. Not ones to court the
spotlight, they are that rare hiring - a senior team whose output is
bigger than their reputation.
I’m delighted they’ve decided to join us.’
Belford and Roberts’ recent triumphs include Campaign Poster silvers for
the Guardian ads, ’Pamela’ and ’doll’. The pair originated the Guardian
campaign, which used photocopies of famous people as caricatures. While
at Leagas Delaney they also created work for Pepe, Adidas, Harrods and
Working at DMB&B until July 1995, the pair won a Cannes Gold for a
Qantas campaign and a D&AD nomination for relaunch work for the Spastics
Roberts commented: ’We’ve had a good couple of years at Leagas
