The beer brand will hand out more than 20,000 bottles of water complete with local taxi numbers at universities, student nights and music events until 18 December.
Working with the Budweiser Promotional Team (BPT), the brand will identify three key events at each of the nine universities – such as formals and sporting matches – and provide revellers with water bottles. It’s expected that 1,200 bottles will be provided per university.
Three Budweiser representatives per university will also be present at a total of 27 club nights. They will be accompanied by ‘swooper’ flags and branded sampling bins full of water bottles.
Budweiser is bringing its Christmas jumper back for another year, which is being worn by staff. More than 800 jumpers will be provided to those attending university events. The jumpers will also be gifted to three chosen societies at each university.

The campaign is being run by Seed Marketing, meanwhile 3-Monkeys Communications is handling PR.
Matt Leadbeater, brand manager, Budweiser UK, said: "Responsible drinking is important to Budweiser all year round; this Christmas we wanted to build on activity done throughout the year by working with these same universities to encourage students to drink responsibly as they enjoy our products this festive season.
"University venues, music events and club nights are great places for bringing people together for an experience often enjoyed alongside a cold beer. By partnering with these sorts of occasions, we want to reiterate the importance of responsible drinking when celebrating. We’re also delighted to bring back our Christmas jumpers, that are not just popular with consumers, but an important tool to drive the responsible drinking message home at Christmas."
Budweiser recently toured the UK to deliver free music gigs, as part of its Budweiser Live Project.
