Bant Breen, Leo Burnett’s digital communications director, is

leaving London to take on a new role at the agency’s global headquarters

in Chicago.

His task will be to pull together Burnetts’ integrated and interactive

offerings on a global scale.

Breen has been a key figure at Burnetts since 1998, when he joined with

a brief to spearhead the agency’s interactive capabilities.

During his time in London he has helped to acquire and establish the Leo

Burnett Group’s new-media agency offering through Hard Reality, launched

an online media skills unit called Starcom IP and helped the agency to

secure digital and e-commerce clients including QXL.com, Zoom.co.uk and

Sonera.

’Over the last year and a half, the Leo Burnett Group in the UK and

Europe has embraced the opportunities that digital technology offers,’

Breen said. ’We are now active in leading projects online, in the

wireless space, broadband and interactive TV.’

Breen was one of Martin Sorrell’s proteges at WPP before leaving to head

the new-media department at Burnetts. He was recruited to Sorrell’s WPP

Fellowship and spent three years at Sampson Tyrrel, the Network (now

MindShare) and Ogilvy & Mather in Hong Kong.
