There’s no change at the top of the business performance league this

week, despite Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper’s pounds 2 million capture of a

range of new brands from Heinz, including the alluring Baked Beans

Frozen Pizza.

Unfortunately for Euro RSCG, this win barely dented second-placed Abbott

Mead Vickers BBDO’s lead over the agency - in part because this was the

week we got confirmation of the Evening Standard’s planned pounds 3

million above-the-line spend. We had previously credited AMV with only

the pounds 1.6 million billings indicated in Register-MEAL.

St Luke’s moved up five places to 12th after its Teletext win, and

Lansdown Conquest’s Liberty Radio account has helped lift the WPP agency

to 16th place.

However, the biggest new-business gain of the week was BMP DDB’s Lego

triumph, the budget for which the client has finally set at pounds 7

million. It brings BMP’s net gains/losses back into the black after a

topsy-turvy year.
