It’s been a remarkably quiet two weeks on the new-business home front.
With one exception. Christmas came early to Tom Reddy, the agency which
just two years ago had to axe a third of its staff when Iceland took its
pounds 16 million account to WCRS. Last week, the frozen food retailer
switched back and the Manchester minnow shot into the top ten.
Internationally, things have been busier, but have had little effect on
the table. Leagas Delaney, Saatchi and Saatchi, McCann-Erickson and Euro
RSCG have all enjoyed significant global wins in the last fortnight.
Leagas Delaney scored a coup by getting on to Coca-Cola’s roster two
weeks ago with a couple of projects for Fanta. It is not yet clear,
however, what if anything the agency will do for the brand in the UK.
They were also cracking open the pop at Saatchis last week after the
agency won the pounds 12.5 million pan-European Schweppes business, but
UK budgets have still to be confirmed. The same applies to McCanns’
pounds 8 million Russell Athletic win.
