Cabal Communications is set to launch two men’s lifestyle magazines
and a home interest title in 2000.
Campaign this week revealed that two men’s titles will be unveiled in
March, and Cabal’s managing director Andy Sutcliffe confirmed that the
company would also launch a home interest title next year.
Sutcliffe stressed that Cabal aims to be a top five or six consumer
magazine company in three years.
Contradicting recent claims in the trade press, he professed to be
entirely satisfied with the first ABCs for Front and Real Homes and said
there were a whole host of new titles in the pipeline.
’We have very ambitious plans for the next three years. Being a small
company we can launch quickly, be more maverick and go through less
agonising,’ he said.
Good Health is to be repositioned as a mainstream lifestyle title in the
coming months. It is to emulate Shine in concept while taking a more
serious approach to health issues relevant to women aged from their late
20s to 40.
The expansion will require additional advertising sales staff. A
spokesperson said: ’We are always looking for good sales people but they
must be Caballists. They won’t need hierarchy they’ll just get on with
it.’
