Trinity Mirror this week announced that Cable Ad Sales would

continue to operate from within the group.

After Trinity Mirror axed Live TV, there was speculation the sales house

would be sold to another cable organisation. But the 25-strong sales

team will remain intact and will continue to sell for Telewest, Cable &

Wireless and BT Cable.

John Walters, sales director at Cable Ad Sales, claimed that it made

sense for Trinity Mirror to keep its foot in the cable market.

Walters said: ’There are a few ideas that have yet to come to fruition.

One might be the acquisition of another cable channel, but it’s too

early to say.’
