Cadbury Schweppes appoints TBWA to Oasis

TBWA pitched against The Advertising Brasserie, Duckworth Finn Grub Waters and Mountain View. The spend for the brand in 1999 will be £3 million.

In August Cadbury Schweppes split with Saatchi & Saatchi, the incumbent agency on the brand for the past three years.

Andrew Mann marketing director at Cadbury Schweppes, said: "All agencies on the shortlist were very strong contenders. TBWA will help us to achieve our objective of accelerating activity on Oasis in 1999, building on the success the brand has had this year."

The most recent campaign features the "Open, pour, be yourself once more" tagline and the voice of drag comedian Lily Savage. Different TV personalities including the former England football coach, Terry Venables, Mike Reed as his East Enders character Frank Butcher and the clairvoyant, Mystic Meg, are seen to revert to type when they drink Oasis.
