Ammirati Puris Lintas has poached Mark Cadman, a director-in-charge
at J. Walter Thompson, to be its board account director on Rover.
Cadman’s appointment is the first move by Chris Thomas, the new managing
director of APL and head of its Rover account, to strengthen the car
client’s team. APL is fighting to retain the pounds 7 million direct
marketing side of the Rover business.
Cadman worked with Thomas on the pan-European launch of the Volvo S40
and V40 while at at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO.
Thomas said: ’Mark is an outstanding account man. He is passionately
committed to strong creative work, he’s a good strategic thinker and a
brilliant team leader.’
Cadman said: ’I’m convinced that, with the senior management team at
APL, there is a sense of excitement and energy about the future.’
Cadman joined JWT two years ago to head its Kellogg’s Cornflakes
business.
While there, he also worked on Mazda, Shell, the Post Office and Parcel
Force.
He joined AMV in 1993 and, during his last year there, worked
exclusively on Volvo. During his time at the agency he helped to win the
Dunlop Slazenger racquets account and worked on Labbatt Brewing. Before
Abbott Mead, Cadman was at Publicis, servicing clients including
McVitie’s, Guinness and Terry’s of York.
