Camelot has called off its strategic media review and handed the
business to Mediapolis and its strategic media operation, Catalyst.
The decision has sparked renewed speculation that the company will
instead review its media planning and buying, currently with Zenith,
this autumn.
A Camelot spokesman said: ’We cannot comment on that at this time.’
Camelot had been lining up agencies to pitch against Mediapolis, which
has been caretaking the strategic business since Camelot awarded its
creative account to WCRS, Mediapolis’s sister creative agency, two
months ago.
But Ian Milligan, Camelot’s director of marketing, said this week:
’We’ve been very impressed with Mediapolis and it will be a key
long-term partner.’
Marc Mendoza, managing director of Mediapolis, said Catalyst’s work for
Camelot over recent weeks ’has proved good enough to justify a permanent
appointment’.
