Martin Pugh, the marketing director at Camelot, will handle the review, which will be overseen by the AAR who will draw up an initial shortlist of five agencies.

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, the incumbent on the account, will be asked to re-pitch.

The company begins its third lottery licence in February 2009 and is planning to increase investment into the Lotto game, which makes up for most of Camelot's £24m advertising spend.

AMV picked up the Camelot business in 2003 and will continue to work on all other National Lottery brands including EuroMillions, Scratch cards and Thunderball.
