Richard Sloggett has left Will van der Vlugt Films to join Quentin
Morrissey. Sloggett, whose production company closed down a year ago, is
best known for his work for Sainsbury’s, Holsten Pils and Kit Kat.
Smoke & Mirrors, one of London’s leading post-production facilities, is
launching Smoke & Mirrors 3D, a company dedicated to 3D animation and
visual effects. The satellite operation has been set up by Bill Scanlon
and Andrew Howes, who join from the Film Factory at VTR, where they
created the effects for Lost in Space.
The Aerials, commercial radio’s creative awards, has introduced awards
for ’craft skills’ for the first time this year. Prizes will be handed
out for direction, sound design and casting at the Aerials ceremony,
which takes place at Bafta on 22 October.
Brendon Norman-Ross, the director who last month split from his
long-time directing partner, Sue Worthy, has joined Outsider. Ross,
whose credits include Ford Escort ’back to the future’, will be produced
by Helen Weil, who joins Outsider from Ogilvy & Mather’s TV
Zadoc Nava is joining Rose Hackney Barber from Union Commercials. Nava’s
work includes Sea France, the Times, the Telegraph, Christian Aid, Sol
beer and a Labour Party election broadcast.
Ashley King has left Tank Films to join the Mob. His directing credits
include Capital Radio idents, Budweiser and Daily Telegraph.
