News reaches us that Francis Goodwin, the managing director of

Maiden Outdoor, is attempting to make his mark on the take-away pizza

business, a decade or so on from when he ran a bar in Southampton.

Not content with running Maiden, and holding on to his place at 901st in

the Sunday Times’s list of richest people with pounds 18 million, it

seems that he has set up a Domino’s Pizza franchise in Fareham, near

Portsmouth.

It opened in August, but staged its official opening ceremony only

recently, which the local mayor and mayoress attended as well as a man

who looked fairly familiar to us.

Not that Goodwin’s getting involved in actually delivering fast food on

his Honda 50; he’s quite happy to munch the free pizzas that were given

out at the bash.

On the night of the Campaign Poster Awards, Goodwin was tucked up in bed

when his telephone rang at 4.30am. It was one of his sales team wanting

to know if he wanted a pizza delivered.

They’re a cheeky lot.
