Congratulations to Carlson’s band, the Cedar Tree, which scooped
the top prize at the NABS Battle of the Bands this year, closely
followed by the OgilvyOne and Payne Stracey collective, the Mild
Mannered Janitors.
The Cedar Tree’s set included a rendition of Robbie Williams’ Let Me
Entertain You, which went down a storm with the 1,200-strong crowd at
London’s Hippodrome. Sadly, however, the crowd was not as impressed with
the band’s original tune, White Wine, and the award for best original
song went to the Teds.
We had a great time on the night but the bright spark at Kiss FM who
thought it a good idea to hand out whistles to everyone on entry to the
club deserves to suffer the ringing ears we’ve had to endure for the
past week.
