Good to see so many industry folk baring their souls in public
during the last week.
First we had FilmFour’s Dan Brooke who happily admited to the FT
magazine that he paid between pounds 15,000 and pounds 20,000 a year
into a special account for buying contemporary art. He shares his
pastime, which he says costs him around 20 per cent of his salary, with
his father, Peter, the former Conservative politician. Unlike his son,
however, Brooke senior has amassed a collection of over 650 works of art
none of which cost more than pounds 50.
It appears that Brooke junior’s salary, which we calculate to be at
least pounds 75,000, has gone to his head.
And what can we say about Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper’s Mark Wnek and Brett
Gosper’s love-in in The Independent? We knew they were good mates but
Mark Wnek finds his colleague ’a quite extraordinary person -
attractive, kind and mentally healthy’ and someone who ’thrums with
Gosper is as gushing about Wnek, admitting that Mark and he ’enjoy each
other’ and read each other’s minds.
In response to Wnek e-mailing Gosper to say ’I love you man’, all we can
reveal is that we’re busy hacking into the agency’s e-mail server as
this goes to press.
