We’re intrigued to see that Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper’s executive
creative director, Mark Wnek, is pursuing an alternative career.
Mellors Reay’s latest spot for Campari was in the headlines because of
mad, bad Frankie Fraser’s appearance, but it seems Fraser had a rival
for his role.
Well, not quite, but Tim Mellors did have someone in mind for the
super-smooth bar owner seen winking at a burglar. In the ad, the bar
owner returns to his penthouse after a burglar has broken in and stolen
several items, including a rather swish satin jacket.

drink - a Campari and orange.
As the burglar turns round to see who sent the drink, the club-owner
winks and raises his glass. The viewer - and the burglar - sees that the
owner is wearing trousers which match the suit. The burglar is last seen
being removed by the club’s doormen.
Mellors originally asked Wnek, who is well known for his penchant for
black polo necks, whether he’d be willing to appear in the ad. Good
sport that he is, Wnek visited Gorgeous - Chris Palmer’s production
company - for a casting session. We’re pleased to bring you pictures of
Wnek working his magic.
Sadly, though, in the end, Wnek couldn’t spare the time to star in the
ad, although we think he’s got a future on a small screen. A very small
