Some people may think that the demerger at Cordiant was all to do
with maximising shareholder value, but we believe we have uncovered the
There we were, happily browsing through Cordiant’s annual report and
accounts, when we started to notice a trend in the pictures accompanying
the facts and figures. All the really odd photos came from Bates
Worldwide. As an example, below is the photo of the Safeway account team
at Bates Dorland.
The report co-ordinator probably left it to Tim Ashton to sort out the
pics, but we feel sorry for the one at the back who must have been
deemed too ugly to be shown. It’s obvious that Cordiant felt Bates
employed far too many strange people for it to be associated with the
agency any longer.
