We were impressed to hear that Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO’s account
director, Sue Garrard (below), had entered her horse, Flair, in the
National Dressage Championships at Stoneleigh this month, and even more
impressed with her devotion to her clients.
The AMV client, Gossard, makes a range of bras - called Shock Absorber -
for sports activities, and Garrard has been wearing them since the
When Garrard decided to enter her horse in the championships, she
suggested to Gossard that it sponsor the animal. As the competition
usually attracts a lot of media attention and the majority of the
country’s riders are female, Gossard agreed.
Although Garrard wasn’t at the Olympic level required to enter the
competition, she did enlist the help of her riding colleague, Barbara
Thompson, who wore the bra while riding Flair. The horse itself bore the
Shock Absorber logo.
