Campaign Diary: Ex-FCB creatives seek a little cold comfort in Cannes gold accolade

News reaches us that FCB is proud of the gold it won at Cannes for

its Shelter poster which ran last year.

The poster, for those who don’t recall it, was pasted underneath the

Hungerford Bridge, just opposite Cardboard City. There were around 180

coats hung on it and, as homeless people took the coats, the strapline

’Now you know how desperate homeless people are to keep warm’ was

revealed.

The creative team, Neil Frisbee and Richard Coggin, were very proud to

win the gold too, but for them it was something of a Pyrrhic

victory.

Last month the team was made redundant after the loss of several

accounts and are still looking for a job in another agency. Let’s hope

they don’t have to look for a coat each on a poster.
