One agency that Campaign’s 30th anniversary issue didn’t mention
was Freeman Matthews Treasure, previously known as Freeman Matthews
Milne.
The agency, which was one of London’s most profitable in the early 80s,
collapsed in August 1983 leaving more than 30 staff without jobs to go
to. Campaign played quite a part in the agency’s day-to-day running,
with several senior management changes being announced to the staff via
our front page.
Well, more than 15 years after the demise of the agency, a reunion party
is being organised by Dick Wellbourne, who was the agency’s client
services director when it went under.
Everyone who used to work at the agency is invited to the do, which is
being held on 15 October at a secret central London location.
