CAMPAIGN DIARY: GGT’s little treasures

It’s amazing the things an agency can turn its hands to when there’s champagne on offer.

It’s amazing the things an agency can turn its hands to when

there’s champagne on offer.

The Creative Services Association’s summer treasure hunt a fortnight ago

set 15 agencies scavenging through Soho - and a couple of teams

displayed hitherto unknown talents for kidnapping and trespassing.

The contest ended in a dead heat between teams from GGT Direct and

Bartle Bogle Hegarty - but the CSA had obviously anticipated such a

situation and had a tie-breaker ready prepared whereby each team had to

bring back something unusual.

BBH kidnapped an American family of four, while GGT Direct somehow

managed to blag their way into the Virgin Radio building and make a

brief appearance on the Pete and Jeff show. Unable to choose between

those two highly imaginative offers, CSA’s chairman, Jason Rowe,

resorted to a clapometer and finally crowned GGT Direct the winner.
