IPC Magazines and its agency, CIA Medianetwork, were pretty quick
off the mark last weekend.
Following the unceremonious 2-0 drubbing of Tottenham Hotspur by
Manchester United, who booted Spurs out of the FA Cup, IPC saw a golden
opportunity to plug its footie weekly, 90 Minutes.
Executives sprang into action to pull together the following copy: ’How
long was your cup run this year, Tottenham? 90 Minutes!’ The ad went in
the Super Goals section of the Sun last Monday.
It helped that the mag’s publisher, David Smith, plus CIA’s planner and
buyer, Rupert Slade, are Arsenal fans. Sources tell us they were both
more than happy to go that extra mile on the project.
