Staff at J. Walter Thompson recently said a fond farewell to the
copywriter, Sandra Leamon, who retired after 22 years with the
agency.
Leamon has worked on most of the Philadelphia ads starring Sarah Crowe
and Ann Bryson, who ensure they eat everything covered with ’lashings of
creamy Philadelphia’.
Agency bosses decided it would be a fitting tribute to film a special
goodbye ad featuring Crowe and Bryson talking about Leamon.
The finished ad, screened at Leamon’s leaving party, shows the Philly
girls joking about how Leamon will now be able to ’lie in bed, listening
to music, eating hunks of bread covered in lashings of creamy
Philadelphia before pampering herself in the bath and then going out for
lunch and drinking masses of vintage champagne’ - just like life at JWT,
they claim.
If only they knew how close to the truth they were.
