We’d just like to clear up any confusion following the distribution
of an internal memo at Doner Cardwell Hawkins announcing the arrival of
a new member of staff.
One of the agency’s American PAs (we’re not naming her to save her
blushes) was informed that one ’David Abbott’ was going to be coming
into the agency to work in the post-room.
Eager to make him feel at home, she circulated a note to everyone asking
if they could make him feel welcome.
However, she failed to clarify what he’d be doing or exactly who he
was.
This caused much confusion among the agency’s creatives who suddenly
thought they were going to be under the watchful eye of the Patron Saint
of Copy - Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO’s David Abbott.
So, for the record, the one on the left (below) works at Doner; the one
on the right is responsible for some of Britain’s most memorable ad
campaigns.
