CAMPAIGN DIARY: Still no clue as to who was Kinsale prankster

It seems the hunt is still on for the pranksters who left Godman staff stranded on their boat in Kinsale a couple of weeks ago.

It seems the hunt is still on for the pranksters who left Godman

staff stranded on their boat in Kinsale a couple of weeks ago.

The incident, and details vary depending on who you listen to, happened

on the Friday night of the four-day International Advertising

Festival.

Staff from Godman had hired a yacht instead of opting for the more

sensible option of a harbour-side B&B.

During the night, the mooring ropes were untied by someone, either

deliberately or accidentally. Not wishing to start any rumours about who

has it in for Godman’s managing director, Jo Godman, we’d like to point

out that she wasn’t actually attending the festival.

Despite gossip that the vessel drifted into the middle of the harbour,

local police were called and a hunt mounted for the culprits, the

official story is that the boat only drifted a few feet from the harbour

before one of the quick-thinking crew jumped land-side and

re-moored.

Of course, we agree that, if the demooring was deliberate, it was a

reckless act, and we would be interested in any clues as to who did it.
