CAMPAIGN DIARY: Paul’s Red Nose stunt leaves his top lip (and his wife) feeling frosty

Contrary to popular opinion, advertising does, in fact, have a social conscience and many big-hearted adfolk did their bit for Comic Relief the other week.

Contrary to popular opinion, advertising does, in fact, have a

social conscience and many big-hearted adfolk did their bit for Comic

Relief the other week.

Most self-sacrificing of all, however, was Paul Adams, GGT’s creative

services director, who nobly had his moustache removed for Red Nose

Day.

But this wasn’t any old moustache - this was one of the more bushy

varieties and he had nurtured it for 23 whole years, since before he met

his lady wife.

In fact, Helen had never seen her husband without his hairy upper

lip.

’I cannot scream in the same high-pitched voice she screamed in when she

saw me,’ Adams recalls, somewhat crestfallen.

The talk now is that Helen has withdrawn all sexual favours from her

husband because he’s ’not the man I married’.

Never mind, Paul. Raising pounds 400 is surely worth it for a momentary

lull in your conjugal rights, eh?
