CAMPAIGN DIARY: Sir Martin expects all to kneel before him

Just a quick note for nervous WPP employees who might be wondering what to call their newly knighted boss, Sir Martin Sorrell. He revealed: ’Martin Sorrell will do fine as long as you’re kneeling at the time.’ (For our American readers, kneeling before a knight is an ancient British tradition and absolutely not a reference to Monica Lewinsky.) But will Sorrell be using the title in his professional life? ’I will use the title as long as it delivers enhanced shareholder value and intimidates opposing batsmen or bowlers,’ he quipped.
