Was there anyone who wasn’t at Godman’s party? Its bash at the Cafe
de Paris, to celebrate being Campaign’s production company of the year,
was probably one of the most talked-about events since, well, last
week’s party.
Despite all the panicked phone calls and dress rehearsals, neither
Robbie Williams nor George Michael managed to turn up, but Ewan McGregor
could have been there if Godman’s Mark Denton had invited him when the
pair were drinking next to each other in the Union only an hour
before.
Several of the usual suspects made an appearance, but none could
outshine Big Norm of Cheers fame, currently appearing in a West End
show, who put in a quintessential performance propping up the bar.
Most confused were the Japan-ese tourists outside the club who, excited
by the paparazzi taking snaps of the guests as they arrived, were avidly
trying to work out which of them were celebrities. They may well have
been disappointed.
