It’s seldom that Campaign is mentioned in the trendy press so we
were impressed when we saw a cutting from our issue of 28 March featured
in Touch magazine.
The story, by Emma Hall, talked about Chris Forrest leaving Duckworth
Finn Grubb Waters to go to the planning group, Red Spider.
We weren’t as touched, though, when we saw that it was talking about
’bollocks journalism’. It seems that Touch magazine thinks the world is
’choked by endless torrents of writing’ and thinks ’it’s high time that
we reined back on literary babble in our lives’.
OK, so we thought we’d look at their own magazine. We see articles on
4x4 jeeps, how trendy golf is at the moment (how old is that style tip?)
and conspiracy theories.
The first thing that comes to mind is, take your own advice, mate: cut
down on words and stop talking nonsense.
