In its graduate recruitment programme, Saatchi & Saatchi wanted to

attract fewer applicants than usual but of a higher calibre. Asking

would-be suits to fill an empty envelope with four ideas of their own

stimulated the applicants’ imaginations and encouraged them to show what

they could put into the agency.
