CAMPAIGN DIRECT AWARDS 2003: Royal Mail Direct Award

This award, chosen by Royal Mail, seeks to credit outstandingly effective work that has the brand at its core, as well as an excellent working relationship between client and agency.

The judges were in no doubt that Tesco's mail media, from Clubcard mailings to store-specific campaigns, are consistently well-conceived and produced and recognise Tesco's relationship with its consumers.

The supermarket chain's excellent CRM programme has contributed to the store's ongoing success: Tesco announced an increase in annual profits of 13 per cent to £1.3 billion and a rise in operating profits by 7 per cent for the year to 22 February 2003.

A special mention in this category also goes to Land Rover and its agency, Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel, and earmarked for future success are: Virgin Mobile and Liquid; the AA and Harrison Troughton Wunderman, and Skoda and Archibald Ingall Stretton.
