Dare Digital, the digital production and creative company founded by the ex-Bartle Bogle Hegarty joint managing director Mark Collier, has won the task to develop the website for this year's British Television Advertising Awards.
It is the first time the BTAA has had an online presence and the event will be rolled out online in a three-phase strategy.
The win, Dare's first since its launch this summer, follows a two-way pitch against the new-media agency Lateral. The agency will create a DVD to be given out at the event instead of a brochure.
The first phase of the website will allow candidates to submit their applications for nominations online, as well as provide details about the jury and the awards sponsors. The second phase will reveal the awards shortlist and the final phase will reveal the award winners as and when they happen. The website goes live this week.
Peter Bigg, an administrator at the BTAA, said that it has not yet been decided whether the awards event will be broadcast on the web. He added: 'What we like about the site is that it does not look like a website - it is very user friendly.'
