Lateral, the new-media marketing and design agency, has added a second partner to its network of companies.
Mediumrare, a small digital design consultancy specialising in broadband interface design, has joined the Lateral network and will work alongside both Lateral and LShift, its technical partner and original network member.
Mediumrare, which has carried out digital media tasks for clients including Compaq and BT, works across print, CD-Rom, video, the web and broadband.
It was founded in 1997 and its role in the Lateral network will be largely as a broadband design shop.
Christain Nouyou, Mediumrare's creative director, said the agency has already picked up its first account. 'We have just won a contract to develop two digital broadband channels for a major telecoms company,' he said.
Lateral's chairman, Jon Bains, said: 'We've been talking with Mediumrare about this for years, and with the birth of LShift back in October as our proof of the concept of the network model, now seemed the right time despite the turmoil in the industry.'
As part of the agreement, Lateral will become a shareholder in Mediumrare.
Network member LShift designs the backend technology systems behind online brands and businesses. The network aims to include all of the different new-media disciplines. All companies will pitch for clients as a network as well as separate agencies.
