CAMPAIGN-I: News in brief

Yahoo! has confirmed that its revenues and profits will continue to

slide this year and has axed 400 jobs. Susan Decker, the chief financial

officer, said the fall was a result of the bottom falling out of the

internet advertising market, and internet companies slashing their

marketing budgets. The senior vice president of international

operations, Heather Killens, has also left the company, following in the

footsteps of the former chief executive Tim Koogle. First quarter

results showed net losses of pounds 8 million.
