Two interactive TV agencies, Cylo and Phosphorous, are spearheading

the launch of a forum in an attempt to bring all the parties in the

industry together to share information and stimulate discussion.

The initiative, which has its own website at www.interactive-forum.org,

launches officially in September and, according to its founders, has

registered interest from a number of industry players.

Richard Forbes-Robertson, the head of production at Phosphorous, said

that the forum is vital.

’There’s so much technospeak that we’re trying to break down the

jargon,’ he commented.

Open, NTL, ONdigital, the advertising bodies ISBA and the IPA, and

Sleeper agreed the forum is vital because of the speed at which the

technology and marketplace are moving.

Alice Macinnes, the head of interactive for Cylo, which formed a

strategic alliance with HHCL & Partners, said that some groups are being

left out of developments in interactive TV. She added: ’So many people

in advertising have such a lot to contribute. The forum gives us the

opportunity to bring together all of the relevant parties with a vested

interest in the media to voice their opinions, fears and worries.’
