T&T and Popstars

The media fit between T&T and Popstars centred on a "real" fruit drink

sponsoring a programme about "real" talent. The TV sponsorship appeared

weekly on ITV as well as daily on ITV2. In total, 17 bumpers were

created so that the sponsorship idea didn't wear thin.

T&T sponsorship extended to Popstars' online presence, which enabled

surfers to play a T&T-sponsored DJ mix competition. Other platforms

included a web link on e-mail marketing about Popstars as well as SMS


The sponsorship also extended to sampling at Hear'say's first press

conference as well as on-pack and in-store promotion.

AC Nielsen research shows that T&T has gone from being a relatively

unknown brand to being the fastest-growing drink in the UK take-home


Movies that matter

Stella Artois' tie-in with the silver screen scooped the award for best

sponsorship in 2000.

The package includes Stella's broadcast sponsorship deal with Channel 4,

making Sunday night films "Sunday nights in". The Stella Artois brand

commercial now appears only in breaks in Stella-sponsored films. "Stella

Screen on location" sees films such as The Beach showing on Brighton

Beach as well as The Blair Witch Project in Highgate Woods free of


The offering was extended out in 2001 through an initiative in Hotdog

magazine which includes profiles of behind-the-scenes film staff and a

100-page DVD bible tip-on.
