Campaign Palace, Bates merger blamed on harsh New Zealand market

- Two of Cordiant's New Zealand agencies, the Campaign Palace and Bates, are to merge as a result of increased competition in the fiercely competitive New Zealand marketplace.

The newly merged agency will be known as The Bates Palace and will become the fifth largest agency in New Zealand. There are no reported client conflicts resulting from the merger although around 25 people are expected to be made redundant.

Campaign Palace recently lost the Westpac account in New Zealand
