Maiden Outdoor Advertising is one of the largest and most
successful outdoor media owners in the UK today.
Since a management buyout in 1993, Maiden has introduced new standards
of effectiveness and accountability to the medium, securing its place as
market leader in the large-format sector.
As a marketing-led company it is constantly seeking to meet the changing
demands, in both products and services, of its customer base. Maiden was
the first contractor to offer an illuminated 48-sheet campaign,
Flagship; last year, the company launched Apollo, the industry’s first
national back-lit product and, this year, Maiden Outdoor has committed
pounds 3 million to Operation Floodlight to provide a minimum 30 per
cent illumination across all of its pre-selected campaigns.
Maiden is also developing its small-format six-sheet product line. The
foundation is now established with a national network of six-sheets in
railway stations, motorway service stations, shopping centres and a new
national concession to develop six-sheets in Safeway supermarkets.
Maiden is undoubtedly the market leader in offering accountability
services in outdoor. As part of its portfolio of added-value services
the company offers Maiden Mentor, a pre-testing facility for creative
work, which now incorporates a new test for six-sheets as well as the
48-sheet format.
Maiden is proud of its holistic approach to marketing the medium. Recent
initiatives include the publishing of Maiden’s fourth edition of Posters
in Perspective, a guide to the outdoor industry; and Maiden Masterclass,
which explores the factors involved in building effective campaigns.
Maiden was also the first outdoor contractor to sponsor the D&AD Student
Awards.
Outdoor advertising is one of the fastest growing sectors of advertising
and Maiden continues to be at the forefront of its development and
progress.
Maiden is delighted to sponsor this award as part of its continuing
support for the outdoor medium.
