Cannes Week - UK looks to 'gorilla'

The UK's hopes of a Grand Prix are firmly pinned on Cadbury's drumming gorilla (see page 1), as agencies failed to land the top award in any of the categories judged so far.

The standout performance came from Lean Mean Fighting Machine. Golds have been scarce in all categories other than Cyber, where eight were awarded to a mix of digital and traditional UK agencies. Just two shops won gold in the Direct category, and none at all in Outdoor, Media, Promo, Radio or Press.

Three categories, Film, Integrated and Titanium, remain to be decided. The digital agencies LMFM and glue London head the current UK leaderboard (see table).
