Capital One appoints DMB&B in US, UK and France

- US credit card issuer Capital One Financial has appointed DMB&B, part of the MacManus Group, to handle its estimated $80 million (£49 million) integrated advertising account in the US, the UK and France following a competitive pitch.

DMB&B pitched against a number of unspecified agencies to win the business in a review that kicked off in December. The review was managed by Andersen Consulting.

The agency will be responsible for above-the-line advertising, media planning and buying, interactive marketing, sales promotion and direct marketing assignments.

As well as issuing credit cards and affinity credit cards, Capital One sells mobile telephone calls, merchandise catalogues, credit reports, insurance, and automotive loans.
